Lining Collection Giovani 8

Best lining for Suits – When it comes to mens clothing, nothing is more impressive than a well-fitted suit. Attention is usually given to the fabric, the color, the cut, the buttons and the lapels but in reality, the lining of the suit is actually the invisible hero.

Why is the lining so important?

The lining is a vital piece of fabric that adds warmth and structure to your suits. The lining helps to shape the garment and let it sits smoothly on the contour of the body, in short, it’ll make you look good! It smoothens the garment and adds strength that will elongate the life of the jacket. The lining allows the suits to slide on and off easily and thus reduces the wrinkles. Finally, it hides the inner structure of the suits.

Different types of lining – Not all lining fabrics are created equal. Let’s take a look at the different types of lining.

1. Silk lining- a natural fiber that is soft and luxurious but difficult to care for. Not only is it inappropriate for summer but it’s also the most expensive.

2. Cupro (Bemberg)- soft, smooth and feels like silk. The Cupro is breathable, has a beautiful drape and is comfortable as well as durable. It’s an all seasons fabric that keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter.

3. Viscose- the viscose lining is silky smooth, breathable and has a beautiful drape. The fabric wrinkles easily and is prone to shrinkage.

4. Polyester- the polyester lining is the most durable and cheapest of the lot. It is highly static, unbreathable and emits a lot of heat. It is usually used for cheaper variety of suits.

Having your suits custom-made will help you look sharper and you will have to the freedom to choose from the variety of linings available. Buying an expensive suit with a cheap lining defeats its purpose. Choosing the color and pattern of your lining is a fun and unique way to show your individuality.
